Affiliate Disclosure

The short version: some links on this site are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase, at no extra cost to you.

The full version:

The Backyard Cosmos participates in the Amazon Associates program and may participate in other affiliate programs from time to time. This means that when you click certain links on this site, to telescopes, books, apps, or other products, and make a purchase, I may receive a small commission from the retailer.

This costs you nothing extra. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use my link or go directly to the retailer.

Affiliate commissions help support the cost of running this site, hosting, tools, and the time it takes to research and write everything you read here. They're what make it possible to keep the content free.

A few things I want you to know:

Affiliate relationships never influence what I recommend. I only link to products I would genuinely recommend to a curious friend who asked me where to start. If something isn't worth your money I won't link to it, regardless of whether there's a commission involved.

Not every link on this site is an affiliate link. Many links, to NASA, universities, news sources, and other references — are simply there because they're useful.

When a specific link is an affiliate link I'll note it inline where it makes sense to do so.
